After many years of working for various NGOs – for example in Latin America - Sebastian Rötters knows that in addition to climate change, coal also means violation of human rights. He has been using his in-depth knowledge of the energy sector and coal mining’s social impacts in Urgewald campaigns against German energy suppliers since 2016 - “Blood coal” from Colombia is (unfortunately) a long-running issue here. His good Spanish skills and his close contacts to important partner organizations are very beneficial to his work. Sebastian is notorious for his powerful speeches at energy supplier general meetings and spices them with fitting irony and sarcasm. A Berliner by choice, but also a fan of Cologne, he demonstrates his love of the famous Rhine Carnival by making caustic comments and collecting a lot of laughs, even if he’s immersed in the most stressful of campaign situations. The best way for Sebastian to get away from it all is riding his racing bike through the Alps.
