Dustin Schäfer joined urgewald in May 2019. Across institutions, he works on campaigns to strengthen complaints mechanisms as well as related environmental and social policies.
Dustin received his PhD at the University of Kassel. In his research, he uses the case of the World Bank Group to investigate the possibilities and limits of institutional complaint mechanisms to trigger institutional action on the part of the associated financial institution. His research operates at the intersection of postdevelopment, governance research, and political science organizational studies. He holds a BA of Ed. and MA of Ed. in Vocational Education (Political Science and Electrical Engineering).
Dustin is interested in sports science and is therefore also an enthusiastic endurance athlete (triathlon). He is also trying his hand at hobby gardening.
