Since her youth, Hélène Sturny has been committed to a world in which the economy serves the people and respects the ecological limits. Hence she has specialized both academically and practically in the areas of business, human rights and the environment. During her bachelor's degree in International Relations (in
Geneva and Heidelberg) and her master's degree in International Commercial Law (in Maastricht) she focussed on human and environmental rights and authored numerous research papers about corporate accountability.
Her passion for investigative research and uncovering illegal and illegitimate economic practices has led Hélène to urgewald, where she has been working as a researcher for the
Global Coal Exit List.
Hélène has been with the circus from an early age and since then has spent a lot of time on her hands. Standing on her head always brings her new perspectives on life. Since she can not get used to the flat land in Berlin, she returns regularly to the mountains back in Switzerland, preferably with her camera.
