Heffa Schuecking

In 1992, Urgewald founder and visionary Heffa Schücking turned her student rainforest protection commitment into her job. Her 25 years of many successful campaigns have proved how a small organization can achieve great things, if leverage is applied at the right point. Heffa studied Biology and is bearer of the internationally renowned Goldman Environmental Prize. Having spent a large part of her youth in the US, she speaks perfect Texan English. And when Heffa isn’t in the middle of important campaigns, she’s tango dancing, taking care of her anarchist tomcat or reading stacks of newspapers.
