Regional Infrastructure Monitoring Alliance (RIMA) Sharing Series - 4th Edition

As Multilateral Development Banks increasingly finance the private sector to deliver the Paris Agreement on combating climate change, more communities from less developed countries are kept in the dark about how large projects impact their socio-economic and environmental conditions. The poor corporate environmental and social governance policies combined with less democratic practices in these countries make justice difficult to access for the communities.

Hasan Mehedi has been advocating for communities in Bangladesh and has over 25 years of experience working on Child, Adolescent and Women's Rights, Financial accountability, Forest Peoples' Rights, Mangrove Conservation, People's Movement against destructive projects, Traditional Knowledge and Cultural Practices, and Environmental Governance in Bangladesh. The session will provide campaigners with valuable insights into his experience in campaigns & peoples' struggles with China financed projects, helping to deepen their knowledge and strengthen solidarity within their peoples' movements and campaigns.

Speaker:
Hasan Mehedi, Chief Executive
