Day 4: Arrival in the rainforest

The Iwokrama rainforest in the heart of Guyana covers over 3.700 km2 and counts as one of the world’s last four pristine tropical forests. Our tour through the interior starts here and we are immediately overwhelmed by the abundance of different species.

Day 5: On Turtle Mountain: endangered nature paradise

We experience our first rain in the rainforest – and it’s quite something! However, today we’ve set our sights high and are aiming for Turtle Mountain and a canopy walkway. So called sustainable logging and gold-digging are threatening the forest.
